Inaugural Orpington Junior Chess Tournament and Coaching Day

Your children are warmly invited to the first Orpington Junior Chess Tournament and Coaching day.

WHEN?

Tuesday April 4th. It will run from 9.30am sharp, with registration from 9 - 9.15am, until 4pm.

WHERE?

St John's United Reform Church, Lynwood Gr, Bancroft Gardens, Orpington, BR6 0BG

WHAT?

Four rounds of chess and two hours of coaching in small groups.
If there are sufficient entries, there will be book and trophy prizes, as well as a prize for the best school or club.

The coaching will be targeted at players from beginner to those graded 130 but we would not recommend entry for those who cannot checkmate with a king and queen against a lone king. Those unsure are welcome to come to Petts Wood and Orpington junior club to see if this tournament would be appropriate.

The entry fee is £24, but for those entering before March 17th there is an early-bird discount of £5. Entries after 27th March may incur a late entry fee. We ask that parents enter as soon as possible so that we have an idea of numbers, which will be limited.

All children must be supervised during breaks.

FOOD

A selection of great value home-made cakes, sandwiches and soups will be provided by a bona-fide (though sadly not Michelin-starred) chef.

HOW DO I ENTER MY CHILD?

Entry is by email to crga.allison@gmail.com and will not be confirmed until payment is received by bank transfer.

To enter please email with the subject “Orpington Junior Chess Tournament Entry”:

Grade (if applicable):
Institute of chess level completed/working towards (if applicable):
I will then send payment details and your place will be confirmed on payment.

Maths and Economics revision sessions

I will be running Maths A-level and GCSE, and Economics A-level revision sessions over Easter to prepare for upcoming exams. I have significant experience of most syllabuses, having taught them to many private students. I can also provide intensive one-to-one support as exams approach.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or are interested in the sessions.
